Philosophy
We believe the stock market inefficiently prices securities; therefore, we seek to identify dislocations between price and intrinsic value. To this end, small and microcap stocks are least followed by wall street analysts and often present the greatest opportunities for generating superior returns.
Additionally, we believe actively managing a concentrated portfolio is the best path to outperforming the market over the long-term. Our clients should recognize the increased short-term volatility concentration can present, in order to realize the long-term benefits.
We invest in securities with large margins of safety, small followings, and clear future catalysts for significant price appreciation. Investments are highly concentrated - up to 25% of our portfolio may be invested a single stock, and we typically hold fewer than twenty stocks at a given time.
